I’m always happy when the bulletin of the Union of Bulgarian Artists arrives by mail. In addition to current news and cultural context, it carries another personal moment for me — the use of my typeface, Vocal, in the graphic design of the publication.

Vocal functions as the main text typeface in the bulletin, where it meets a wide range of content: programs, exhibitions, critical texts, and chronicles. For me, this is a particularly satisfying example of font in use — the typeface as a quiet yet steady carrier of information within a real cultural environment.

Even when the bulletin occasionally “gets lost” among the mailboxes, the joy of encountering it remains the same — proof that typography lives most fully through its use.
